ATTACK DOES NOT PAY

Blog entry 6-27-2008
A BETTINA “SPARKLES, SHARING:
How can we all live in Harmony?
A PARABLE ABOUT THE BLACK BEAR:
My husband and I built a house in the
middle of the National Forest in Arkansas.
We put out food for birds and squirrels…
and to my surprise black bears came to
nibble too. Well, fear gripped me!!! Then
I was told the Black Bear does not like
confrontations.. unlike the Grisly Bear.
When our dogs bark the bears leave…
the Grisly, as is its nature, would attack.
Luckily there are no Grislys in the Ozarks.
The moral of the story is:
We live in harmony with the black bear.
He shared his forest with us and since he
doesn’t attack, he can come back for more
nibbles. One the other hand, the Grisly Bear
gets into a lose-lose situation.
WE HURT OURSELVES WHEN WE
ATTACK OTHERS.

MY POWER SWITCH

I specialize in childhood abuse PTSD and healing old hurts. As long as we think we are VICTIMS, nothing changes. But WE CAN CHANGE.

Here's a poem I wrote to encourage you.

MY POWER SWITCH

Lately I’ve learned my thoughts have much power,
My actions follow them every moment, every hour.
I learned to switch ‘off’ past false beliefs and unreal thinking,
I chose to turn ‘on’ God Thoughts and kept my life boat from sinking.

With some serenity I floated down the river of life with ease,
Suddenly the boat rocked! Thoughts of fear disturbed my peace!
Reactive thinking caused rough water, hurt and pain,
Dear God, what can I do to get to smooth sailing again?

Which thoughts make me laugh? Which thoughts make my cry?
Holy Spirit helps me ‘shift’, correct mistakes and see the sunny sky!
Quiet water returns, all is calm and all is still!
Joy and peace fill my heart! This is God’s Will!
